Once you’ve decided you want to refresh your look with something more effective and longer lasting than serums and creams, the question arises: What’s next?
This is a question we hear all the time from first timers at Moxie. While we always sit down with our clients to hear their needs and give our recommendations, we also want to provide something for you to look through prior to your appointment to get to know the aesthetic services we offer.
In this blog, we’ll walk you through each of our aesthetic services, describe which skin concerns they target, and explain the procedure. We also want to let you know about some of our newer aesthetic treatments you may not have heard about yet. Our ultimate goal is to empower you with knowledge at every step of your aesthetic journey.
Tox for Wrinkles
If you want smoother, younger looking skin, Tox is a longtime go-to treatment. Tox is a solution that is injected into areas of the face where wrinkles appear, such as the forehead, crow’s feet around the outer eye, and smile lines around the mouth.
How Does Tox Work?
Tox works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that form facial lines over time. It blocks the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from sending signals to these muscles to contract. Moxie offers Jeuveau, an FDA-approved neuromodulator similar to the Botox brand of Tox.
The Tox procedure itself is simple. At Moxie, one of our accredited professionals will apply a numbing cream to the targeted area and inject the areas of your face that you’d like to smooth out. Side effects are very mild if they appear at all, most commonly bruising around the injection site. You’ll see results 2-4 days after your appointment, and full results around 10-14 days after.
One important thing to remember about Tox (and all medispa services, for that matter) is that results are temporary, with Tox results lasting around three to four months. Too often, we see Tox clients not realizing they need to schedule a touch up, and they are surprised by the reappearance of wrinkles. We suggest scheduling a touch up somewhere within the 3-4 month timeframe to maintain best results!

Dermal Fillers for Volume
Dermal fillers are another popular treatment to erase wrinkles and facial lines. They are also used to restore areas where volume is lost (or if you’d like to plump up what you have naturally), like the undereye area and the lips.
How Do Dermal Fillers Work?
Similar to Tox, dermal fillers are applied first with a numbing cream followed by an injection to the targeted area. At Moxie, we use a hyaluronic acid-based filler called Versa. Hyaluronic acid exists naturally in the body as a sugar that helps hydrate your skin. Because they are body safe, they are our top choice.
Also similar to Tox, there’s no downtime with fillers. You may experience some slight bruising around the injection site, but that’s it – you can go right back to your day-to-day life.
You’ll start to see results right away, and as the fillers continue to hydrate the area, you’ll see an enhanced effect for the first 24-48 hours after your procedure. What our clients love most about fillers is their longevity, with results lasting for up to 18 months!

Microneedling for Wrinkles and Discoloration
Microneedling is another service we offer that targets wrinkles. What makes microneedling stand out is its ability to address multiple other common skin issues as well, like scarring, hyperpigmentation, and stretch marks.
How Does Microneedling Work?
During the microneedling procedure, the practitioner applies numbing cream and then uses a microneedling device equipped with fine, sterile needles (we use the SkinPen® Precision at Moxie) to create tiny needle-like punctures in the skin. These micro-injuries trigger your body’s natural healing process, which generates collagen and elastin – two proteins that repair and rejuvenate the skin.
Microneedling reveals smoother, firmer and more even skin. The tiny micro-injuries also help your skincare products to absorb deeper for enhanced effectiveness.
The microneedling procedure typically takes 30-60 minutes, and we recommend a series of three treatments, each spaced four weeks apart. Redness, tightness, and mild sensitivity of the skin are common for the first few hours after the procedure. Any side effects clear up within 24 hours.
New! Laser for Discoloration and Anti-Aging
One of the newer aesthetic treatments in Moxie’s collection is the BBL Photofacial Laser. BBL stands for BroadBand Light. This is a light therapy that uses intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy to treat a wide range of skin concerns like discoloration from melasma or rosacea, sunspots, and wrinkles. We use the Sciton Forever Young BBL at Moxie.
How Do Laser Treatments Work?
The magic of laser therapy is that it is incredibly effective and long-lasting while being very gentle on the skin. During the procedure, the laser uses photothermal energy to heat up the skin. This stimulates collagen growth to improve elasticity and hydration. At the same time, the laser also breaks up the pigments that cause age spots, sun damage, and redness.
This is a very mild treatment; no numbing cream is necessary and all you will feel is some warmth on your face during the procedure – which only takes about 30 minutes.
You’ll see results after about seven days post-laser treatment, with peak results appearing at around 2-3 weeks after. The best part? You can see results for up to 10 years post-treatment!

New! Chemical Peel for Melasma and Acne
Another one of our recent additions is the VI Peel, and we’re so excited to tell you about it. This medium-strength, medical-grade peel has become the go-to peel for dermatologists and estheticians because it treats a wide range of skin concerns simultaneously. The VI peel can visibly reduce acne, acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, melasma, and more. And it’s safe for all skin types!
How Does the VI Peel Work?
The VI Peel formula contains a blend of skin-loving ingredients like trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, and phenol. During the treatment, the practitioner applies the VI peel in a series of layers to clean skin. The peel then gets to work, exfoliating the outer layers of the skin to resurface your skin tone and texture. After approximately 20-45 minutes, we’ll wash off the peel with a gentle cleanser.
After the procedure, you may experience sensitivity, redness, or peeling for a few days. We strongly advise wearing sunscreen with a SPF of 30 or higher following your treatment, as your skin has a much greater risk of sun damage after an exfoliating peel – and sunscreen is always a good idea! You will start to see results around 6-7 days after the VI Peel, with full results appearing around 4-6 weeks post peel.
To maintain optimal results, we recommend multiple VI Peel sessions held every 4-6 weeks.
New! PRP for Undereyes and Hairline
The newest aesthetic service we offer at Moxie is PRP, or platelet-rich plasma. Because the procedure uses only your own plasma, PRP treatments greatly reduce the risk of allergic reactions and contamination. PRP is a safe and natural procedure that’s proven to create a fuller head of hair and smoother undereyes.
How Do PRP Treatments Work?
During the PRP procedure, we draw a small blood sample. We then place the blood sample in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the other blood components – we’re only using the platelets.
To treat hair loss, we will inject the concentrated PRP at the site of hair loss on the scalp, and then perform a microneedling procedure to ensure deep absorption of the PRP and further stimulate hair growth. You may experience some soreness or redness at the injection site, but it typically heals in less than a day. You’ll see full results within the first three months, and results often last 6-12 months.
To rejuvenate the undereye area, we perform the same blood draw and centrifuge procedure. Once the solution is ready, we inject it into the undereye area. PRP reduces the appearance of dark circles, improves skin texture and elasticity, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and may even reduce puffiness. You may experience redness and swelling for the first few days after the PRP procedure, and we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours after the procedure. Results last for 6 months to 1 year.
We usually recommend a series of PRP treatments for optimal results, often 2-4 sessions spaced 5-6 weeks apart. Like many other aesthetic treatments, maintenance appointments may be needed to maintain best results in the long term.
